You and your family have my prayers and good thoughts. My oldest brother was diagnosed with cancer. He's in Michigan and I'm in Mississippi - I've only been able to visit him once since this summer. I try to talk to him regularly though. It's hard to see a sibling have to go down this road. I'm SO glad that you guys are in the battle together. God bless you all as you face these hard days.

Re: Mafia Wars – Halloween Loot 2009

Hope i complete the loot before the extension they give expires. I just stumbled into Seesmic. I tried TweetDeck, returned to Twhirl and finally decided to branch out again and just happened to pick Seesmic. I really like it, but I'm not sure what I'm missing with TweetDeck.

Game changer? Hmmm. I doubt it. The game's just starting... :)

Re: Share Lists with Twitter List Widget

That was so easy, thanks for the friendly push Todd!

Re: Twitter Lists comes to Seesmic

Very cool! I have not taken the dive into Twitter lists yet, I know - I am completely out of date :-). I wasn't sure the use for Lists, mostly because I have not taken the time to fully understand them. But, with your info and the new found knowledge, I can definitely see the value of adding this to my Blog and featuring other like-minded Tweets.

Re: Commented on “Chris Brogan”

I doubt I will be making any lists. I "followed" the lists that others have placed me on (and got a chuckle out of some of the list titles) but I don't want to make anyone feel left out.

Best wishes to you on your writing for NaNoWriMo!

Hugs and love sweetie. Godin's remarks, while interesting, don't seem to apply. Lists in twitter aren't like email lists. its a way of categorizing your existing contacts, exactly the way you can organize facebook friends.

if you appear on a list, that simply means that someone you let be your friend has decided to make their relationship to you more semantically rich.

Re: Opt in and opt out – Twitter Lists

Great post. Really something to think about. I can see where lists could be abused. Unsavory sorts could even use it as a black list although I understand you can block them to be removed from such a list. I spent hours creating my lists & a mere half hour after creating them I wish I hadn't. I like too many people on Twitter to want to include some & exclude others. I may be forced to write my own explanatory post and delete all my lists. Better to have not created them at all or to have kept them private.

Re: Twitter Realtors Questions

Robyn - we actually discussed this. My take on it is that people hire/refer to other people that they know and trust. Best way to do that is to be real while still making sure people know what you do for a living.

Re: Twitter Realtors Questions

I'm sure the class was great! I think that the availablity of information and the ease with which we can manipulate it has pushed us past a very important question: "Should we be sharing this information?".

Just because we can access, collect, and publish something, does not mean that we have either the legal or the ethical right to do so. As you pointed out, we can easily create an object that is geographically based, but how do we determine that everyone included in this object is willing to have their location publicized by someone other than themselves.

This is where I see the real issue. When someone else takes my information and does something with it, I no longer contorl how, when, or where information relating to me is used.

This is a problem of common courtesy, respect for others, and will eventually become a legal issue. Someone somewhere will do what you have described and something bad will happen, out of which will arise a precedent-setting legal process.

Re: Twitter Lists Risks and Worries

Libel & more are my Lists concerns. I can see it getting way out of hand as well with students and bullies and cliques. As you move from public figures like politicians (where for libel you must be wrong and malicious) to private folks like most of us the level of proof necessary to prove libel/slander is reduced.

Good points. Thank you.

Re: Twitter Lists Risks and Worries

Thanks for the write-up Todd.

Re: Angry Robots debut at Forbidden Planet

@Loudmouthman digitally signing the Kindle would be cool.
